Dan’s expertise spans decades of high-performance leadership across financial services, insurance, and business coaching, making him a uniquely positioned consultant for organizations and individuals committed to real, sustainable growth.
Dan began his career in retail automotive sales in 1975, eventually developing and leading a Toyota dealership that consistently outperformed national market share numbers by up to three times the average. It was here that he mastered the art of human connection, learning how to communicate effectively, build genuine relationships, and link products and services to the real needs of real people. In 1997 he joined Automotivaters as a trainer and consultant, later acquiring the company alongside partner Warren Cederberg and growing it internationally.
In 2021, Dan led the development of the Well-being in the Workplace program through Fusion Performance Group, now launched internationally and continuing to gain momentum. The program helps individuals and organizations better understand accumulated stress and take greater control of their outcomes, with measurable impact on job enjoyment, staff retention, and individual performance.
The transition into financial services, insurance, and broader business coaching was not a leap. It was a natural progression. “What the automotive industry gave me was the ability to become an exceptional communicator. I learned how to connect people to products and services in a way that felt meaningful to their lives, not just their wallets.”
That insight became the foundation of Dan’s coaching philosophy across every sector he works in: remove the pressure, and the results will follow. Rather than leading with products, Dan coaches advisors, agents, and business leaders to lead with curiosity, to understand the client’s lifestyle, goals, and real-world needs before anything else is discussed. When the connection is genuine, the conversation shifts. Clients stop feeling sold to, and start feeling served.
“Simply stop selling, and start helping. The road to high achievement in financial services, insurance, and business is built on our ability to truly serve the needs of our clients. Being customer-focused is far more successful than being product-focused. Connect the dots for the client, and the results will be exceptional.”
Today, through Fusion Performance Group, Dan works with financial services teams, insurance professionals, and business leaders across a broad range of industries to build cultures where relationships come first, pressure is removed from the process, and performance follows naturally, because clients who feel understood become clients who stay.
